Year of the Priest

Called by Pope Benedict XVI, the "Year for Priests" will begin on the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus on June 19, 2009.

In celebration of the Year for Priests, the USCCB has established a website dedicated to the year-long event.

Please pray for our priests. To be called is a gift. To answer is a grace and a challenge. To live in faithful service to the Church and a priest's vows is a great blessing for all of us faithful, who are ministered and lead by our priests. The priestly vocation is made all the more difficult by the apathetic and, at times, antagonistic culture in which we live. Please pray for our priests.
